Jerome Larez

Dallas/Ft. Worth Squad

I currently serve as the Executive Director of Arttitude, where I lead an organization dedicated to uplifting LGBTQ+ and underrepresented voices through the transformative power of art. In this role, I work with artists, activists, and communities to create platforms that not only showcase diverse perspectives but also build bridges of understanding across cultures. My mission is to ensure that creativity is used as a force for both self-expression and social change.

Alongside this work, I am proud to serve on the Board of Directors for the Friends of Juanita Craft Civil Rights House and Museum. Preserving the legacy of Juanita Craft—an icon of civil rights activism in Dallas—is both a responsibility and an honor. Through this position, I help guide efforts to educate future generations on the struggles and triumphs of the civil rights movement, ensuring that her story continues to inspire.

As a Commissioner, At-Large for the City of Dallas Office of Arts and Culture, I advocate for accessibility, equity, and innovation in the arts across the city. My role involves collaborating with fellow commissioners, community leaders, and cultural organizations to ensure that the arts remain a thriving and inclusive part of Dallas’ identity. I see this as a unique opportunity to influence policy and support artists whose voices shape the future of our city.

Currently, I served on the Board of Directors for the Ryan White Planning Council of Dallas County Health, where I worked to address public health disparities affecting those living with HIV/AIDS. Through this experience, I deepened my commitment to advocating for healthcare equity and advancing community-driven solutions that prioritize compassion, dignity, and justice.

Across these roles, my work has been guided by a belief that art, culture, and community health are intertwined threads that strengthen the fabric of society. Whether through creative expression, civic engagement, or public health advocacy, I remain committed to amplifying diverse voices and fostering inclusive communities that honor both history and innovation.
